Heated Radiant Floors in RV

I am considering adding to my already ordered New Aire the Heated Radiant Floor option.

My purpose for ordering this option aside from the obvious would be to try and keep the NA unfrozen in my unheated garage during storage.
My location is upstate NY and I do realize that there are other available ways to do this without winterizing it, but I am wondering if anyone has experience here in doing it.

Any problem doing it with the slides in?

Also if anyone could give me any insight what they do in storage with there unit if they don't winterize it (aka. Oasis unit, just elec. heat or furnace as well)?

I'm not looking for it to be livable in storage...just trying to keep it unfrozen so the wife and I can jump in and use it with out going through the de-winterizing procedure.

No matter what, get the heated floors. We just came back to FL from Graceland, and some mornings were 31F outside. Wish we had the heated floor. Don’t know about storage?

To do what you want you need furnace running at a minimum temp, the floor will not heat your bay areas through the insulated floor, especially if you have water in tanks or plumbing.
OASIS for newbies.

We were just away for the weekend & it got down into the mid 30’s. We only used the floor heat on a combination of low, medium, & high settings and it kept our whole coach warm (did not need heat pumps or Oasis furnace). I did at one point have to get something from one of our basement bays & it seemed pretty warm. If you’re going to be in sub freezing temps I’m guessing you’ll want the oasis furnace on to supp and make sure of no issues.

As others said no matter what though the heated floors are well worth it (even for us Floridians)!

Heated Radiant Floors in RV

Heated floors are awesome. Nothing like stepping out of the shower onto warm tile or getting out of bed. Or walking around. Lol
You’ll need the oasis in in order to protect your plumbing. The floors won’t heat the wet bay or tanks. I’m keeping mine outside direct in Boston weather with oasis set to 50 and monitoring temps at all critical areas. Survived 18 degrees no problem. Even colder nights coming up soon.
The basement (excluding wet bay and tanks) gets a lot colder when slides are in. I expect it to go below freezing in the basement this week.

That's odd....unless the Oasis vents in the bays are blocked with the slide in or... you have a slide seal or door closure issues....

Never had it on our two DSDP's, Magna came with it. Really like it (as do the cats) as long as I'm on 50 amp shore power.

Heated Floors

So today I added to my New Aire order by including the heated floors.

What I found out over these past few days was very helpful in making the decision...THANK YOU

Two things I would like to add to the information on this option is that the only slide floor that is heated is the bedroom & there is no problem (according to Newmar) using this feature with the slides in.

Can't wait to get this rig....but its not going to be till April so I better calm down.

Wise decision. When we picked our coach off the lot, it had everything we wanted, but I balked at the added price of the floor heat that it had installed because we live in Fl. Now, I would never have another coach without it. As others have said, we hardly run the heat pumps and had to use the Oasis maybe twice. Of course the coldest we've been in is high 20's for a few nights, but it seemed to keep the coach warm enough. We have used the floor heat on 30 amp service also and it worked fine

I would never buy a RV without heated floors. No noise and even heat. Grab a cup of coffee and sip it 😀
