HeloView Project

I have three Heloview Cameras I want to add to my 2004 Newmar Kountry Star. I am going to mount the side cameras near the front of the rig, but I need to find some power for them. It looks like I can splice into the mirror controls and run a wire to the side and then drill some holes for the new camera, but I am not sure which wires are power?

Any ideas?

I have attached the images.

Answer might be none of them. Power could come from the switch inside and only when a mirror needs to be moved. To be sure just test each one with a meter but I think them might not have power until the switch is activated.

There should be plenty of power sources under your hood that you could use to feed the cameras by just running wire to them from the power supply/fuses.

You might want to unscrew the base of the mirror and push a new power wire into the coach. You should be able to remove the trim panels from the side of the dashboard to find that new wire and further pull it into the interior. Once in there, there are a zillion possible places you can connect for the small amount of power that a camera consumes.

Ensure you have a proper rated fuse for the wire / camera you are installing as you might be connecting to a circuit that has a much higher rated fuse which then doesn't protect your smaller wires for the camera.

You might want to put a step ladder or a rope to support the weight of the mirror while doing all of this and to keep it from damaging the paint. Don't suspend the mirror by the wiring harness.
