Unhappy HELP

I bought a Newmar 2000 Dutchstar 35SS 35' gas Motorhome from Campingworld this year. The windshield wiper motor went out and I took it back to get replaced under the extended warranty. They ordered one from Newmar who would not except a P.O. or credit card from them so they sent a check to them. Now going into week 5 they received the motor and it was the wrong one. The shaft size on the new one is bigger then the original one. Can anyone help me out on this. I have already cancelled one trip and may have to cancel another if I cannot get a motor. I have a motorhome that I can not use or sell if I wanted to because of this. Newmars cooperation on this matter has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth because I was told that they were very good in helping out their users. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You
John

unless there is something very special about yours, you can get a universal washer motor from most any parts store.

John:

I gotta tell ya,....after 7 years of full timing in two different Newmar rigs, and dealing with the Newmar folks regarding BOTH service and PARTS, you'd be hard pressed to convince me that the problem in obtaining that wiper motor you're needing rests with Newmar. If some intermediary dealer (ie., Campingworld or other) provided Newmar with the CORRECT part number and/or talked with the Newmar Parts Dept. directly, that dealer would have received the correct part in a matter of a few days at most. It SURE wouldn't have required a 5+ WEEK time period.

Can you get the part number off the old motor?

Sorry to hear of your problems. You might have better luck calling Newmar yourself. Sometimes it the middle man that causes the problem.

Newmar just changed their whole wiper system, it sounds like you got the newest motor. Somebody ordered something wrong.

Hi jengler,
There are a couple of things you can do.

1. Personally contact Newmar and provide the details. If you have the inoperative motor, in hand and can read the numbers to the Newmar tech than should be enough to solve the problem.

2. Search the Internet for the numbers on the inoperative motor.

3. Take the inoperative motor to NAPA and let them do a search.

4. Have the inoperative motor repaired.

Gut feel says your problem is with the lack of creativity on the part of the CW employees.

This may sound dumb and dangerous, but after 34 years of driving class "A" coaches, I rarely us the windshield wipers. When raining the water just seems to move itself of the windshield. Try RainX. I would have no problem leaving on a trip knowing the windshield wipers do not work.

I use Dry Wash N Guard on the body and windows with the same result only it lasts longer.
