Help! Dead Chassis Batteries

N ot sure what happened. We stepped out for the day and came back to dead batteries. We’ve been connected the 30amp service for a week and a half and haven’t had any problems. Honestly I haven’t looked to see if it was charging because everything was running fine.

Anyway, everything is off now and I’m not sure where the problem is coming from. PowerWatchdog doesn’t throw any errors but makes an audible click 2 seconds after being plugged in.

Checked all the breakers, none are tripped.
The charging light is flashing and the Power Watchdog is continually trying to connect and then disconnecting for som reason but not throwing any error codes.

I know your frustrated and somewhat stressed. If it was me I'd be panicking. However, the 1st thing to do is list: Yr, Make, Model, chassis, Motor. How old are your batteries. Do you have a switch for you chassis battery and one for your house batteries.
When my engine batteries go dead I turn off everything. Mine never died while plugged in so I can only tell you what I do when unplugged. I start my genny for 20 min. Then hit the boost switch and she starts right up. Hopefully someone else here chimes in and helps us out. God bless.

Check for water in the batteries, if they have caps.

While there check all battery connections.

Not panicking. Am frustrated.
Thought that info was in Signature.
2020 Newmar VTDP.
Batteries are 4 months old.
I think there might be a switch? Somewhere? Do you
Mean like a breaker or a switch to send power from chassis to house and vice Versa.
Also, these are the House batteries that seem to be dead, not the chassis.
Generator is running but I no idea how to tell if it’s charging the batteries or not.

John,
Was your inverter on? If so, chances are good that you lost power at the pedestal and was inadvertently draining your house batteries. Was your AC working or washer/ dryer prior to leaving? Just trying to trouble shoot. It takes time to bring your batteries back to life on the magnum display and for the red fault light to turn off.

Batteries won’t take anymore water.
Connections are all good.

Did you try to reset the push breaker on the actual magnum inverter?

I believe you have to clear the fault before it will work again

Have you reset the inverter with the power button? Hold it down for 15 seconds or so

I crawled into the bay and didn’t see any lights coming off the inverted. Also don’t see a power button anywhere

Found the power button. Tried resetting by holding it down. Light goes off as soon as I release the button. Inverter doesn’t seem to be getting any power as there are no light on.

Open your manual!!!!!
you'll have a picture of the inverter pointing out the power button. Push it and a green light should come on IF there is power to it from shore power or gen set.

You should have a monitor in the coach that tells you what the house battery charge level is and whether it is charging.

I know it can be frustrating but the manuals provide good info. If no help call Magnum customer service.

Best wishes - Richard

I would try this. You should have two breakers on your inverter.
