Help needed for mirror replacement

Traveling through Canada was fun but I had the unfortunate experience of hitting a construction barrier fence with the passenger side view mirror. It was hanging by its wires until I cut them and ordered a new mirror from Newmar. All was going fine on the replacement until I couldn’t remove the two halves that hold the ball base of the mirror. I have tried everything from heating it to calling Newmar customer service (which did not result in a call back). Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?Click image for larger version

I had a same issue when a trolley jumped out in front of me this past winter. More that likely your mirror is made by RAMCO in Elkhart, IN. A call to them might be more productive. I recall that after loosening the set screws that hold the ball mount together, mine just fell apart. I did use copious amounts of WD40. I hope that this helps!

djpauls is correct - RAMCO makes mirrors for NEWMAR - did some work thru them replacing the mirrors on my Bay Star so they would fold in.

Number is 1-800-321-4819 - I was fortunate to talk to Preston, who was a great help - ask for him.

5 Years ago a large box came off a overpass on I 10 and took my passenger mirror right. I ordered directly from Ramco and it was SEVERAL hundreds less than Newmar. As djpaul said remove the three set screws and it should come. Hope this helps

Ramco also offer “seconds”, which seem perfect to me - and cost a lot less.

Thanks to all who gave me the Ramco advice. They were super helpful and I ordered a factory second on the support arm and ball cup because the model my Baystar needed was on backorder. Can’t believe it was a $120 less through them.

Just one more followup; did speak with Preston at Ramco and the cost of the factory second mirror support was $25 and delivered in 3 days. Unbelievable the difference in cost vs Newmar.
