HELP - No City Water!

We came home this afternoon to find out we had no water. Since we are connected to city water, we assumed it was the campground's fault, but when we disconnected the hose from the RV, there was plenty of water and plenty of pressure. Any ideas?

Is it possible that 12v pump is plumbed in ahead of city water and that a check valve is stuck? 12v water pump is usually plumbed as a back-up to city water and the output side of the pump has a check valve to keep water from flowing from city water through the pump to the fresh water holding tank. Lots of folks like to add check valves and such for various reasons. It is possible someone has done a modification and a stuck check valve is keeping city water from entering the system.

Hi CWinLV,
My assumption is that everything was okay when you left the coach and you have been setup in this site with all working okay.
1. If there is water in the fresh water tank, turn on the pump and determine if there is water in the coach. If there is no water in the fresh water tank consider filling the tank to about 1/4 full.
2. If the coach has water from the pump, the variables are:
2a. whole coach water filter. They do get clogged. Remove all the water PSI in the coach and remove the filter. Replace the canister.
2b. External water PSI regulator.
2c. Check valve where the shore water hose connects to the coach.

My vote is filter first then check valve at hose connection. I have had both problems in the past. You can gently push the check valve with a small screw driver to unstick it. This worked for me and has not happened again. I got into some bad water while on a trip out west and had no water. The filter was completely clogged up.

Check or recheck your fill/city water valve position.

Thanks to all for the responses. After checking for hose kinks and filter clogs ( which all checked good), I tested with water pump, and that checked good. Called the campground front desk, and our problem was a bad water pump at the campground. New pump now installed, and our water pressure is back to normal. 👍

As a result of this fire drill, I did learn:
1. Our filter needs to be replaced soon.
2. Always have fresh water in the tank while parked.
3. Have a couple of gallons of drinking water stored while parked.

All's well that ends well. 😃
