Help - Shower turns into a prison

Hello experienced Newmar people,

My story: my lovely wife was taking a shower one morning when I was outside. She closed the shower door and the momentum caused the latch to swing into the locked position. Fortunately I heard her loudly voicing her displeasure at the situation and came in to free her from her prison.

So my question is this: Does the latch on your main shower swing loosely? If so, how do you keep it from swinging shut by accident?

If not, it is likely time for me to replace it. Or figure out how to stiffen it up.

This is on our new-to-us 2015 DS 3736.

-Phil

Ours does not swing loosely….but I also close the doors slowly.

Maybe a little caulk or glue judiciously applied would stiffen it?

I had that happen once but fortunately I am tall enough and have orangutan arms and just reached over and freed myself!

Glad you heard her and was outside. I said outside because my wife would have probably accused me of locking her in. Ya, I am a bit of a prankster and may or may not have been guilty of doing that.
