Help! Slide opens and closes by itself.

At about 5 this morning my passenger side front slide started opening and closing without any input from me. I was sleeping at the time when it started. I disconnected the operating switch in the overhead but it's still opened and closed. Thinking it might be low voltage because I'm in a rest area I turned on the gen but to no avail. I need to take power away from it so it doesn't open and close while I'm going down the road, where is the fuse located?

Don't know where the fuse is, but Poltergeist?!!!

Now that's scary. Going down the road that could be a small problem.

We passed a DP in a snow storm on the Cumberland Gap that was traveling with both driver side rooms extended.

Don't know how far he got.

Find the slide controller box in the basement and disconnect it.

Chiming in here after I see a post from 2010 was resurrected regarding this issue and radio frequencies causing slide activation.

I had this issue of my salon slide coming in on its own when we turned on the bathroom light over the medicine cabinet. I had recently replaced those two incandescent bulbs with LEDs. Apparently some LED bulbs will give off radio frequencies that cause the slide controller to activate and move the slide. It was never a problem while moving because we didn't activate that light when in motion. The issue seems to have just gone away. Maybe the frequency the LEDs give off changes over time.

It's a thing. This is a known problem with Newmar Intellitec slide controllers and electrical intermittents, and the problem has been around for years.

I thought it was BS until it happened when I plugged in one of those electric bug zappers. Wife & I were outside, but our dog was inside, when the living room slide started coming in. Since then, I pull the slide fuse when not in use because I worry about our dog getting hurt. Other folks put a switch between the fuse and power source.

If you're not aware, those DC slideout motors are very powerful with a boatload of torque and could easily crush a cat or dog.

Caveat emptor.
