Help with Magnum Converter Settings '16 VLDP
Hey All,
I just pulled out our 16 VLDP from winter storage for a few days to visit the family over the holidays. When I put the coach into storage I fully charged the batteries and then disconnected them.
Today, I hooked them back up, fired up the generator, and set the batteries to charging. I noticed some oddities that didn't look familiar regarding charge voltages and amperage. I thought I would check out the settings on the unit in case it lost them as it sat for a few months without power. However, it would seem that Newmar does not provide the system settings written down anywhere as it came out of the factory.
During Bulk charging I was seeing 90 amps. Absorption charging was at 15.0V - 15.1V @ 50+ amps, and then float ended up being 13.9V or so. Now, it is quite a bit colder now than when I was out camping this year, with it being in 40's now. I know the Magnum will boost but voltages for the cooler weather, so maybe this is fine.
If anyone can help with the settings, I would appreciate it. We do not have AGM, we have the 6 Interstate Flooded Batteries. Specifcally I am interested in what you guys have for the following settings if you have the same battery configuration:
Battery Type: Currently this is set to flooded, though I dont know if Newmar puts in a 'Custom' type configuration that I should be using.
Sense Watts: Currently I have this to off, but at one point I know it was set to 5 Watts
Auto On: I currently have this set to off.
Max Charge: Currently set to 80%
Absorb Hours: Currently set to 90 minutes, but would think 120 would be more appropriate.
Final Charge: Currently set to Multi (I *think* this is correct as to keep from boiling the batteries)
Any thoughts on what might be configured wrong or reassurances would be welcomed.
Thanx!
John
