HELP with MCD Shade Driver's Window!

Would appreciate quick HELP with my MCD night shade for the driver's
window of my 2015 DS4369. Somehow the night shade has moved to the
far left, so that when I try to raise it more than a couple of feet it "bogs
down" and stops. I don't see anything in the manual that is helpful. I'm
trusting someone has an answer for me, as I'll need to move my coach in
a couple of days and need that shade up. Many thanks!

Try pulling it all the way out and respooling it. You may be able to shift it over.

HELP with MCD Shade Driver's Window

Thanks, PDR John! Have you had experience with "re-spooling"? I'm
surprised that I can remove it from the "spool"...appears to be stuck
in some manner to the spool. I'll certainly make an attempt at moving
it forward as you suggest.

HELP with MCD Shade Driver's Window

Curious whether any other owners have experienced a problem such as
this one. My night shade somehow has shifted 6"-8" to the left of the day
shade! And when I attempt to raise it it binds and stops. Doesn't appear
to be threaded onto the "spool", but glued or stuck in some manner. I'd
hate to remove it the "wrong" way. Doesn't appear that the "spool" is
removable. Anymore ideas? Thanks, in advance.

Right side cab window came out of alignment a few weeks ago. I carefully pulled it down until coming to the end. Without removing from the spool I readjusted shade while holding reel, with my free hand, and slowly rolled back up. The large amount of shade that never rolls down keeps the pressure tight. It has worked correct since then.

Hope this is helpful.

HELP with MCD Shade Driver's Window

Thanks, Kurt...looks to me like that's the way it needs to go back up. I'll
check it further tomorrow. Can't figure what happened, as it has never been all the way down??

What may have happened is this. The shade on the door sometime hits the top of the screen door when it is coming down. This will cause the spool to continue to unspool the shade and then it can get side ways. Start over and keep an eye on it when you let the night shades down.

HELP with MCD Shade Driver's Window!

Thanks, Vinny. I've had that happen with my door shade. But, I'm
referring to the window to the left of the driver...the night shade. Down to
the bottom of the window it is more than 6 inches to the left of the day shade, and of course, the day shade shows more than 6 inches on the right
side of the window. I've never had the night shade fully down to cause this
problem. Appears to me that when fully down the night shade needs to be
moved to the right on the spool, but it doesn't seem to want to move. I see when fully down the shade looks to be stuck to the spool and not in a
slot. Thanks for all the ideas so far.

HELP with MCD shade Driver's window!

By the way, Vinny...to stop the problem with the door shade, I reprogrammed it to stop just a little below the top of the door when
the down button is pushed. That way it doesn't hit the top on it's
way down.

Thanks.

My dealer shimmed it out a little bit and that seems to help.

Maybe when I'm bored on a rainy day I will unspool it all the way and change the direction on the roller so that it rolls up on the inside of the roller instead of the out side. That will give it about a 1" drop toward the inside of the coach and should miss the door altogether. Or I may try a small deflector over the top of the screen. So far the shim seems to work ok.

HELP with MCD shades Driver's window! "experts

Really appreciate all the input. Appears no one but me has had the problem, yet. It occurred after hours Friday, so expect to be talking to
the "experts" tomorrow, Monday.

Today I was able to resolve the issues with my MCD shades by speaking with a very knowledgeable MCD tech. The first issue being the dark shade on the driver's window being far out of alignment with the day shade and jamming at times..the tech informed me to forget a fix and instead
have my dealer to arrange for Newmar to authorize a new dark shade. The second issue being that the dark shades for the entry door and passenger side window did not operate independently of one another. The tech was able to guide me through the reprogramming of placing the dark shade
for the door to be on one of the "spares", while the one for the window continues on the "pass window" button. Seems to me everyone would much prefer the two dark shades work in independence of one another!
