Hershey- Newmar vs Tiffin
Did Hershey on Friday. First time Hershey and enjoyed (if overwhelmed is enjoyed). Mission was to scout out Dutchstar 37xx's . Compare floor plans and, for smiles, compare to the competition. If you where in the market for a Baystar, you where in luck, a nice showing and well displayed lineup. Looking at Dutchstar 43xx or 40? Also enough to chew on. Ventana and short Dutchstars?, not so much.
On the other hand, Tiffin seemed to have every model in most floor plans just across the lot, even had the owner/CEO around (saw him but didn't know it at the time we were in a coach). Score one to Tiffin at Hershey. Newmar's lineup failed to meet our needs, but others I'm sure got what they needed. I think having only one dealer bring it stock hurt them. Will keep looking...

Good report. In the same situation at the Kountry Star/Allegro 340 33AA level.
What did you think of the Tiffin interior, cabinetry, fit and finish compared to the Newmar?

Tiffin does a real good job on wood work. Most RVs had the same maple color look. Those that were not, were either white or some dark color. Didn’t appear as a stain, just painted. I think in the Dutchstar line, Newmar cabinetry looks a bit better but Tiffin wood work seems more like it was custom built, less like a very good factory knocking out a quality product in quantity.

Perhaps former owner Bob Tiffin (now just CEO). Thor owns Tiffin now.
I've always been impressed with Tiffin interiors.

I have owned Tiffins previously. They build good cabinet doors. Be sure, particularly in the bathroom(s) to check the actual depth of the cabinets behind those doors. Also, in their slides, our Tiffins’ cabinets got a lot hotter in direct sun than the ones in our Newmar. Pros and cons to both brands. Tiffin, IMHO, does a better job of designing and plumbing the wet bay. Newmar walls and ceiling much better insulated. A lot cooler and quieter.

Water pump on my brother in laws Phaeton froze when my Ventana was toasty warm, but he has enough room in his wet bay to install a much better filter system than my one 10" canister, and can keep his hose in the bottom of his wet bay.
Pros and cons between them.
