Hidden Costs?

We're in the process of asking for bids on a new Ventana build.

Those of you who have recently purchased a new coach - what hidden costs have you run into?

THANKS in advance!

With our deal on the LADP, we gave the dealer an out-the-door figure and from within that number he subtracted $75 dollars for documentations. Now given that we are doing factory pickup and registering in a different state his work is minimal. We hope the deal is as clean in the end as it has been so far.

On our previous coach, we were hit with extended warranties, $275 documentation fees, and they collected the taxes based on the state of Florida. They were awful to deal with, which is probably why they are no longer in business.

I am not sure if this is what you define as a hidden cost, but there is generally some taxation. In our state (CA), it was sales tax. There was a recent thread about property tax assessments in CT for RV's.

The most significant cost increases we encountered were because we assumed at this price point many of the features that were standard in other similar coaches would be included. For instance EMS, AGS & tripod satellite connection.

The smaller cost items that were not disclosed until the order was placed were Doc prep fees & state tire fees. Small amounts, but seemed like nuisance fees when buying a high ticket item.
