Hide-a-bed

We looked at a 4369 yesterday. Very nice unit, but I'm a little concerned that the hide-a-bed is not exactly comfortable to sleep on. Any comments on your experiences with it would be appreciated. The one we looked at had a full queen.

Not too bad

I will be taking delivery of my 4369 the week after next so I will see first hand then. At the same time I have experienced this type of air mattress and they are not bad at all. Others here have the 4369 Ventana and will hopefully chime in to give you a more recent observation.

Good luck with your purchase.

Hi wnytaxman,
If you are referring to the air mattress bed, mine is quite comfortable. One can make the mattress as firm or soft as one wants. I use the mattress quite a bit and like it. If you are referring to the jack knife bed, that is another story. This bed is best left for kids or the least favorite adult.

Gary, I have come to the conclusion that jack knife beds are called that because they are only comfortable for a jack knife to use!

When we looked at the DS we were very pressed for time and didn't have the sales guy open up the bed. He implied that the mattress was not an air mattress which more than slightly surprised me. From what I'm seeing is that it is an air mattress which is probably similar to what we have in our Berkshire. Ours starts out firm and is not so firm by morning.

I concur, the air mattress on our full queen hide-a-bed is very comfortable, almost too comfortable as my in-laws want to stay too long when they camp with us!

wnytaxman,

I spent the first three nights (two weeks ago) in my new coach on the "fold-n-tumble" pull out sofa. It has the air mattress others have mentioned here. I found it very comortable. I tried it with the mattress inflated to different degress of fimness. Another nice thing about the air matress: it has a built in electric pump to inflate. Best of all (imho) is the same pump evacuates air out of the matress when you wish to stow it. I suspect we all have experienced the frustratration of attmepting to fold an air matress when it has to be manually deflated. I think you will be happy with it. Let us know.
