Question Hose Reel for Electric and FW Hose

I did a search and I am coming up with nothing.

My new Bay Star has the 50amp service and the power cord goes through a Surge Protector that is mounted in the last bay door on the drivers side.

Has anyone ever found and mounted some sort of hose reel, whether it be electric or manual, in that bay to hold the power cord? I had rolling it up by hand and it would be much easier to "reel" it up.

Same for the FW hose in the wet bay. I did see one person mounted some sort of hose reel on the side but they didn't give any info on what they bought or how they did it.

Thanks!

The Dutch Stars come with both reels (or maybe we paid) - you could just check with Newmar on whether they'd fit in your rig...

Yea, I thought about calling them tomorrow. I was hoping someone might have had a less expensive option, like a DIY project of some sort.

I think some of the Canyon Stars coming with the electric reel, if I am not mistaken.

I have already found some, I was looking for people that have actually DONE it in their Bay Star and how hard it is to do as a DIY project.

We use a Harbor Freight air hose reel like this one. We put a female end on the existing cord and ran a short 6' cord from the transfer switch that reaches the 50A outlet in our RV tent, so we use the cord as an extension when we hook up at sites with power.

Others have done something similar here and here.

Thanks for the info! This is exactly what I was looking for!

My 50amp power cord goes into some sort of Surge Guard power protector. I am bit lost on how to get the longer hose around the reel. I assume I would need to disconnect it from the surge gourd and figure out a way to connect that shorter 6' ft piece to it and the start it on the reel...the. plug the longer cord into that?

Do you have any pics on how yours is done?

Here's the hose reel, the receptacle I added to the end of the cord is the yellow thing towards the top of the reel:

Here's how the cord (a 50A appliance cord) connects to the transfer switch:

Thanks! At this point I just need to figure out if I am able to wire in the new piece myself or am I going to need someone else to do it. I don't really know much about electrical and certainly don't want to screw up my power chord and surge protector. But that is pretty much exactly what I was thinking about doing in my coach. I don't care anything about a power reel, plus I read that some have had issues with the contacts. I don't might manually reeling the hose in, just want a way to neatly store the hose like you have.

Glendinning Products has both reels and is well known in the boating world. My rig uses one of the RLC Cablemaster units. Not sure about the water hose reel as I've never looked at it but it's probably the Hosemaster M.
