Hot water

2019 Ventana all electric

We had hot water at our last stop. Now the water is hot but it runs out before you can get a shower. We are hooked up to 50 amp and are using the AC1. This how we have been using it. New to the Oasis system and new to Newmar, all help will be appreciated.

Thanks

When traveling down the road most Oasis system are heated while travel from engine coolant. We use both AC units when on 50AMP service and that would be our suggestion. If again any concern about hot water we turn the diesel burner on which should give you unlimited hot water. Remember it takes a couple hours on electric to heat the water so turn it on when you first connect up to electrical. If both electrical heaters are on you should have plenty of hot water. We find it not very often we need the diesel burner for just hot water.
Good idea to run your diesel burner on the Oasis at least once a month to keep the unit in good working order. Needs to be serviced at least once a year. If running furnace then you need to have the burner on.

If you take a long shower the electric cannot keep up, turn on the diesel burner for shower time

AC1 is a 1500W electric heating element that will function when plugged in or on generator, AC2 is also a 1500W element. With both AC1 and AC2 on I have had no problem taking a long shower in my 2016 DS.

If you only have AC1 on I think you will find that a problem. It is just not enough to keep up under most situations.

What also can happen is if you had AC1 work at one location but at your next stop had problems, you may find that the water pressure is greater at your second stop. Or also the water temp could be lower requiring a greater temp rise. If you are hooked up to the parks water supply and it is at higher pressure it will of course have more GPM at the shower head and put more demand on the heater and, with just AC1 on it, may not keep up. Put both 1 and 2 on and you should be good. Or you can put the diesel burner on and take a shower for days if you wish.

Also make sure your outside shower faucets are closed completely.
