House Battery Enclosure

Has anyone enclosed the Compartment where the house batteries are located.
I would like to upgrade to Lithium batteries and move some additional components into the compartment. If possible my coach came with a Victron inverter and would like to move it to the compartment. Would also like to install DC to DC charger and future Solar Charge controller. Any pictures or info would be great. Thank You

I wouldn’t do it - sensitive electronics and potential acidic vapors coming from the batteries don’t mix real well.

IF with what your doing you can continue to allow the compartment contains the batteries to breath while the electronics are vapor isolated, even with Lithium’s, in my opinion it’s chancy.

Off gassing just isn’t a concern with LiFePO batteries. Not at all.

Not a Newmar owner, but I have done all that you mentioned except to move my inverter/charger. Fabricating the enclosure was hard to do on my coach. Kind feel it would have been a good job to hire out.

Once you start the switch from lead acid to LiPO you learn two things. First is that there are lots of extra things to consider and address in the project and second, once done is how great all that extra capability is for your RV.

Detailed planning and lots of research are the key.

I did ours 4-5 years ago when I dumped the flooded bats for AGM's . I used black conveyor belt material I had laying around to block off the open areas. I also did teh chassis battery compartment. Both areas are now clen and no road debris/dirt gets in there.
