How do I remove the sconce on my Ventana wall?

Sconce on my Newmar Ventana 3330 is not working. I tried to take it off using the screws that hold it to the wall but it must be glued down or something because it won’t budge. Does anyone know if this was done purposefully with glue or if there is some trick to taking this thing off? I’m in electrician so I’ve been able to fix a lot of things but for some reason this one has me baffled. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Take a picture and post it so we can see what it looks like. A lot of times there is a clear plastic washer on the threads keeping the sconce in place. See if you see that.

Picture of the wall sconce

I have taken the glob off, the 2 screws (which are 2-" wood screws) and tried to get the base that is attached to the wall to move. It would not budge at all. the piece that attaches the lamp to the base will not turn either. It really seems like it must be glued down but I'm leery of taking a putty knife to it cause I don't want to damage the wall.

Is there a hidden set screw somewhere on the housing? If not then you could probably try a razor blade around it to avoid damaging the wall covering

Feel at the bottom of the base/fixture for a set screw as suggested
Usually pretty common

I checked and there isn’t a set screw. I may start with the razor knife suggestion next.

I would get a 6” stainless sheetrock putty knife and work it around the edge keeping it flat while putting pressure on the sconce. It shouldn’t hurt the wallpaper.
