How do you search the forum?
The maze of good information on the Forum is overwhelming and finding past relevant posts...well that’s been a challenge. So how have folks obtained the best search results?

Go here...
iRV2 Forums Search
You can search one specific forum (for example, the Newmar Owners' Forum) or all the IRV2 forums.
Good hunting!

Here's what I've found works. Some seem to find things even faster than me and will have more tips. The Search box in the upper right corner, will give you some information, but really doesn't work well. The Google Search at the top, will take you outside the forum and search your parameters, but will often give you IRV2 results on the topic.
Lastly, "007" has created links in the Quick Tips and Mods at the top of the forum. This is probably one of the best ways to search a topic. "007" has broken the Quick Tips into categories, as an example, windshield wipers and SaniCon issues. He also added Mods done by various people. You may have to read through several links, but it's a good way to find things.

search
I have found this works best for me:
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f62/would...ad-310496.html
It is a "sticky" on iRV2 home page.

I use google, but put this text in the search box "site:irv2.com xxxxxxx"
Replace the xxxxxx with anything you want. If you want to narrow it to newmar forum, then use site:irv2.com/forums/f103 xxxxxxxxxx
Use this as a live example, paste this text into google without the quotes
"site:irv2.com valid hadley redbaron73"

I think that's basically what the IRV2 search tool I linked to does; add the search parameters. My feeble brain has a hard time remembering the things to type in before what I'm looking for.

Should have said while searching Newmar Forum. I can pick a single specific word and get 100 hits...if I use two or three words I can get 20 pages.
The links that 007 has created are helpful, but it’s still challenging to find info on a narrow topic.

It would sure be nice if the search results came back in chronological order. Often times I am looking for recent discussions on a topic & 10 year old postings are not always relevant. Any ideas on how to list search results with most recent first?

Click search then click on advance search. You can set some dates to search and what forums to search in.

If you use Google to do your search in the manner redbaron73 described, you can specify date ranges and have the results presented in chronological order using the "tools" button that's under the Google search bar.

This. Exactly what I do. Everyone once in a while I'll do an advanced forum search, choose just the Newmar forum (sometimes all) and choose to search titles only, but the vase majority of time I do the site: search.
