How many House Batteries in '05 Kountry Star

A friend of mine bought a '05 37' Kountry Star MH. It's on a Frightliner chassie. There are two house batteries on a tray that will hold 4.
I'm wondering if it came from the factory with 4.

He's having a problem keeping his house batteries (2) fully charged.

If the motorhome came with an inverter / charger is had four house batteries. If it came with a converter is had two house batteries.

If you don't diconnect your house battery's when the coach is not in use, most likely the battery's will run down. If you store the unit outside you might consider a solar panel to keep them slightly charged. With all the electronics there will always be a drain without disconnect.

I have an 05 KSDP. Forget the chassis. My coach has an inverter. My coach came with 2 house batteries. Remember, the KSDP was the entry level DP in 05. The coach could have come with 4 house batteries if the option was purchased.

My assumption is the charger is working as it should.

As to keeping the batteries charged, are these the original batteries? If
so, they are, most likely worn out. Try this:
1. check the water
2. Disconnect them from the coach. Leave them connected to each other.
3. With a portable charger, charge the batteries fully.
4. Disconnect the charger. Let them sit for a couple of hours.
5. With a meter take a VDC reading. It should be 12.6 VDC or higher.
6. Let them sit for a week.
7. Take another reading. It should be 12.6 VDC or higher.
8. Take the batteries to your local auto parts store and have them do a load test.

The above steps will tell you the condition of your batteries.

As Gary said it was an option for the 4 House Batteries.

But if you have a 2000W inverter you will or should have 4.

My Coach has a Xantrex 2000W Inverter/Charger and I do have 4 House batteries.
