How to install antenna?

I want to install a wifi booster antenna.

Can I just drill through the roof, as long as I seal it well afterwards? I was planning to run the cable into the passenger side upper cabinet.

Long as you seal it properly, I don't see why not. Many people run the wire into an existing opening; vents, fans, etc. The fridge vent seems to be a favorite. No matter what, think about driven rain and where it will go.

You'll need a long drill bit. I've drilled quite a few holes in Newmar roofs. So far all have been successfull. I've taken the factory tour quite a few times and have learned where the assemblers run wires, duct work, etc. For my voice and date boosters, I placed them at the rear of the coach roof. Both of these boosters are wireless inside the coach. I was able to come into the coach in the rear closet. Place the boosters on the rear closet wall so they are out of sight and mind.

You may not need to mount it outside. Remember wifi(RF) is blocked by metal. If you RV is made of plastic/fiberglass/wood/foam it is invisible to wifi.

Ran mine up thru the Refer vent. Drove 100 miles and found it laying on the back ladder. Damn trees.

Mounted my wifi antenna on the TV antenna and drilled right next to the factory antenna lead. Sealed it with Dicor, no problems.
