Removing TV's

We recently purchased a 1998 Dutch Star, and also want to remove the tv in the front. (Removing the one from the bedroom was easy.)

There are a few videos on YouTube regarding this, and I felt about ready to tackle the task. However, on looking around our coach, there was no visible access to any screws to begin the process. But see if noodling around YouTube helps.

Further, if anyone has any info regarding tv removal, I'd like to hear it, too.

DrSteve. It's a tight spot to get to but, looking to the rear of the TV cabinet between the front windshield you will see slanted air vents made out of wood. Carefully remove them, I used a small putty knife to break the seal of silicone, without snapping the wood. I only had to remove the one closest to the center. After vent is removed, you will back of TV and be able to remove mounting screws. Make sure to have someone help you hold the TV in place or it will fall forward. Hope this helps. PS. I'm having a trusted Audio Shop install HDMI cables and coaxial conversion so I get HD to rear TV without having to run a very long and expensive HDMI cable to rear TV

DrSteve look down on floor of the TV box for screws through the metal plate that's screwed to bottom of TV OR look for wood buttons on wood face of surround maybe screws hidden behind buttons.
In QT's# 3 the TV to LCD Conversion section there maybe more help full hints.

If you have a question in future start a new thread instead of adding to another ones thread will get answered sooner.

Here is a Brochure and Owners Guide, you should check your roof for maybe improving it by placing E-Bond tape on seams.

007 on the Dutch Star 4024 the TV is over the passenger side and there is no frame around the TV u lick the rear TV which has a frame and has screw plugs. The only access is from the rear of the cabinet near the windshield. Good luck DrSteve. It's part of the fun of ownership of a RV.

DrSteve, If the 1998 Dutchstar TV has a wood frame around the front and is mounted in the center of the coach try this. The wood frame has a "wing" attached to each side of the frame that extends back into the square box supporting the TV. The wings are approxiated 60% up the side of the wood frame. There will be a single screw that goes through the square box to each of the wings. Access to the screws are via the cabinets on either side of the TV. The screw on the right side cabinet should be readily visible after opening the door and looking at the frame on the side next to the TV cabinet. You may have to remove the contents of the left side cabinet and use a mirror and light to locate the screw as it is located a little farther into the cabinet. The screws are about 2-3 inches long to get all the way into the TV cabinet and have to be backed out an inch or so to release the frame.

DrSteve, Once the frame is released you can access the screws, at the inside top of the TV cabinet, that holds the TV and lift the TV up slightly and slide it forward. Best to have someone help you since the TV is heavy and wires are attached to the back that have to be disconnected before the TV can be completely removed. The box that holds the TV is metal.
Good luck.

Capt. go to COM_NET LINK ---- SELECT Catalog Model Year --- 2006 ---- 2006 DSDP --- Appliances & Accessories ---- Audio Visual ==== it will show you all the TV's and parts use for the systems in the coach even the mounting bracket for the LCD tv your trying to remove.
There is no instructions for removal but may give you a hint as to what you need to do for removal.
If you have a cabinet to left or right of tv look for screws on side wall of cabinet that maybe holding the tv bracket from opening up to remove screws on back of tv for mounting.
Looking at that LCD does the plastic surround maybe snap off from the body of the LCD use a flat knife with cloth to not mark the wood.
If we figure this out will add to QT's # 3.
