How to secure ladder?

For those of you without an attached ladder, how so you secure it so it doesn't slide sideways?

I set it between the slides. My telescoping ladder also has stabilizers (think out rigger) that helps.

Lots of people use foam pool noodles to protect the MH finish. That would also help keep it from sliding around. Attach them with nylon zip ties.

I do as Rev Roy suggests. Also on a solid level surface so a leg cannot sink or tip from being off level.

Ditto. Same as Rev Roy suggests between the two slideouts so one side of the ladder can be near one of the slide outs. Lippert has their "on the go" ladder that clips into their "on the go receivers", but they require the receiver to be a factory installed item on the rig. I wish they would sell just the receivers and the ladder step clips that set into it for us DIYers, but then we could use with any telescoping ladder vs. theirs I suppose...

I've been tempted to 3D print my own "on the go"-inspired receiver that I mount to the side of the rig, but haven't done it yet.

Best,
-Mark

Thanks, all, still trying to figure out a way to really secure it. My other half has been in the hospital for a week after the ladder slid sideways and then there was a fall. We had pool noodles on it and nothing bad happened to the coach. But two broken legs were the result. From now on, we've decided no one will go on the roof unless the other one is below to hold the ladder and help. Be careful out there.

I am sooo sorry to hear that. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

This is why I think all coaches should have a ladder permanently mounted on the rear cap. Movable ladders, well, they move.

Thanks! It would be good if there was a "T" support that could extend from between the Girards that could stabilize a ladder, but that wouldn't stop its feet from sliding. It's not like campgrounds always have cement or a stable surface below them, either. Ah well, what's done is done and we can only move forward.

Ouch. So sorry to hear. Speedy recovery!!!

After having a neighbor then a coworker die falling off their house ladders while putting up Christmas lights I never put up holiday lights again.

Best,
-Mark
