How Many Hydronic pump failures? Pump alternative!

I recently had a pump failure after just under 2 years, My summer loop pump was feeding back to the panel causing the Zone Fault Led to flicker and light up dim.

Thread here https://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/oas...im-553287.html

I am looking at this old pump and thinking to myself this pump can't be worth $300.00 there has to be an alternative.

Well I found a replacement pump from the manufacturer who I believe makes them for ITR, if you have the new design brushless pumps. https://hydronicheatingwarehouse.com...ch-connections

NOTE you must save the old one as you will need to replace the pump cover on the new one with the old one, it is just a cover with the hose nipples on it.

4 screws, swap over the cover and you have a new pump with exactly the same specs.

89.95 shipped to my door.

Anyone think I should post the link or will it upset someone?

The last pump I bought from ITR cost me $240 total, so your $90 sounds a steal. I would buy one just to have a spare if you would post the link.

That sounds like a nice price for anything AquaHot or HydroHot. However, I recently replaced the ignition coil in my HydroHot (16 years old). I got it at parts.RVHydronicHeaterRepair.com and it is priced less than the "warehouse" site, although in the same ball park. A real expert, he also maintains a forum (forum.RVHydronicHeaterRepair.com) that has excellent algorithms for diagnosing all kinds of problems with these units. He has downloads and other useful information so that you can service your unit yourself. In my opinion, the information was so useful that I didn't care if someone else sold the same part for less. My coil, which was supposed to arrive in 7-10 days, arrived the very next day! At an earlier time, when I needed to remove a defective low coolant sensor, he lent me the tool to remove it. Nowadays, one has to reward service like that.

That is a great resource for Aquahot but nothing for ITR Oasis.

I want to be clear, if you do not have the pump style I have it won't work.

Look at this picture to determine if this is the pump you have.

https://hydronicheatingwarehouse.com...ch-connections

ITR used a different supplier a few years ago, Sorry I don't know the date.

Which means the pump I found will NOT work on the Old Style.

The replacement I found has threaded fittings on the cover, I will reused my original cover on the new pump to make the replacement pump I found fit directly.

I found the supplier for the new style pumps only.

Please post any questions.

Look again at the specs those are 18mm inlet and outlet, ours are 13mm so it won't fit directly however you can also change the cover and be good to go.

I think the ITR are an exclusive spec made for them by this company.

Ebay is not always trustworthy, got this from the manufacturer site.

You are probably right. The other problem is that this pump is only rated to 70C and I believe we need 100C.

70C is 158 degrees well above hot water level.

The Oasis pumps transfer fluid around not water. Can't find the operating temp. in the Oasis spec but it is worth thinking about. Some of the other pumps you mentioned are rated at 100C.

ITR tell me that the transfer fluid is between 145F and 170F. So 158 is too low.
