HWH jack issue

Just set up in a new campsite yesterday, and levelled the coach as usual.
Last night I thought we had a slight list, so this morning, I looked at the jacks, and the driver's side front jack has begun to retract, so far that it is now 1 inch off the ground.
Anyone have any suggestions on what may be happening, and is it a DIY job, or do I need a trained professional?
Thanks for any input

HWH jack issue

Is it possible that it never lifted? I would manually activate it and check again later. Of course look for leaks at the pump unit, lines and fittings

If you are not leaking hydraulic fluid down the leg of the jack, then it is going back in to the reservoir. This means the valve is not closing completely and you may need a replacement. Call HWH and they can advise if you can make other tests to confirm this. They are not difficult to replace.

No, it was definitely down , and flat to the concrete yesterday, and today there is daylight between the pad and the concrete, so it is retracting on it's own.

The first thing is to raise all 4 jacks and check your hydraulic fluid levels. Should be about 1" from the top.

I had this problem and called HWH tech who determined that the problem is the solinoid so I ordered a new for $189. But during the discussion, he asked if I had flushed the system. Didn't know what he was talking about

If your fluid level is good, open that corresponding solinoid- just that one- and manually raise the front of the RV. let of the manual button and the PS will hold while the DS will lower. Repeat the process 3-4 time in order to flush any debris which may have been stuck in the solinoid.

My system has worked for the past year and did not have to install the new solinoid which I bought

Good luck.

What lass suggests is worth a try. The only caution I would add is to just lower jacks far enough to hit the ground but not lift the front of the coach. If you raise the front and release the switch you risk twisting the chassis if only one jack stays down.

2nd on calling HWH, we had a similar experience, except our RR jack would not retract. We did the troubleshooting with HWH, we finally decided that the solenoid valve in the front of the coach that controlled that jack was defective. I replaced it. Turned out it was NOT the problem. HWH sold me a new jack, but charged me much less than it should have cost. Installed, corrected the problem. Great people to work with.

Yes but if you follow the HWH recommendation as I posted, one jack would stay down while the open valve solenoid jack would retract. If the twisting is a concern, you may want to open both solenoid valves and allow the pair to move in unison

I had this exact same problem and replaced the solenoid. Alls well now.

Before you do anything, push the Auto Level button, without retracting the jacks, and let it level itself again. If you still have the same issue, look into a repair. Sometimes these things just glitch!

This is another angle...

There are four manual valve levers on the unit.

Normally, you would use them to retract your jacks if the solenoid fails. In case the valve seat is leaking...you may try extending the jack...using the manual valve to retract it...thereby giving the valve seat a chance to flush debris...and hopefully reseat well. Then pump the jack back up after closing that valve to see if it helped any.

That is exactly the same as lass describes in #5.
