HWH Jack Problem

Had a rear jack fail to extend on my 2004 Dutchstar. Downloaded service manual from HWH site and narrowed the problem down to the control box. Have waited over a week for HWH parts to call me back. Called Newmar and they will sell me the box for $1400 plus shipping. HWH sells for $748 if you can ever get through to them. Found Stuart's Services in Elkhart. Shipping the box to me on Monday for $748. Great guy, got back to me right away. If you have HWH Jack Problems, I highly recommend you contact Chuck Stuart.

A second vote for Stuart's in Elkhart. Almost the same story for us with HWH service.

Make sure the hwh grounds are rock solid. My rear jack would not extend and soon nothing worked. Erratic voltages cause by bad grounding.

Contact Paul at AZPETE on the Irv2 forum. He works for HWH and can answer your questions. His email is pfmaddox@att.net and his phone number is 602-549-3638. He is a Commercial Member and has posted that his phone is always on, and if not answered, leave a message.

He has helped others on this forum and I am sure he can help you.

HWH Control board

I sent my Control box in to HWH for repair. They did their diagnostic checks and found the board had a bad diode. so the cost of repair was 40.00 + 50.00 initial cost. Took about 5 weeks for for delivery.

Chuck is great, and very sharp. Stuart's got me a new solenoid valve in 2 days, too.

To be fair to HWH, a number of companies have been crippled by COVID. It's easy to forget that by many standards, these are all small businesses. A few key people out can slow things *way* down. In the past, HWH has been quite responsive, and I suspect they will be again.

On a coach of that age, get a length of 2x4 to use as a lever to push up the jack foot. Sometimes they might need a little help to loosen them up. Worth a try before spending big bucks
