You should do some research here. This does not contain silicone. HWH put out the instructions back in 2010. They have not updated any of this since.

Here is a link to the website for the T9, https://boeshield.com/why-boeshield-2/

The reason people are using this is it works!

Agree WD40 is what works for me. I have two jacks that occasionally give me
problems. Usually caused by not having sprayed them for too long. I also have a 2 x 4 that I use to assist the raising when acting up. When they go up too slowly I spray them and use my 2x4 and then get a few trouble free ups and downs.

I have Boeshield T9 and think it is good for some things….just NOT jack cylinders. T9 leaves behind a waxy coating when it dries. You don’t want this. WD-40 cleans off any residue and keeps the jack seals pliant and soft.

Agree... I didn't confirm ingredients before but when I did I'll stay with WD40 as HWH recommends.
From an online review I noticed...

"When it comes to Boeshield T-9, I’ve found that more isn’t better. In fact, you will need to make sure and wipe off any excess after applying. Otherwise, it will quickly attract quite a bit of dirt and tend to gum up."

Not what I want around my HWH cylinders... ironically the review mentioned using WD40 to clean off the Boeshield!

Its not that we disregard mfg recommendations. Its that we don't know what the mfg recommendation is. I tried looking at my manual but couldn't find what lubricant to use anywhere. Ironically, I formerly used WD40. Then I read in a post that WD40 is a lubricant, and as a lubricant would attract dust and dirt to the jack so Silicone should be used. Seemed to make sense, so I switched to Silicone. I recently spoke to Paul Maddox, who informed me that WD40 should be used. Since I consider him the expert, WD40 is what I'll be using. These sites are great, but sometimes confuse with conflicting information. The up side is, I am well stocked with WD40, WD40 Silicone and Boeshield T-90. If it needs lubing, I have a lube for it!
