Hydraulic Fluid

Hello,
Going through systems and maintenance on our new to us 2000 Dutch Star, Cummins, Spartan. Thought I heard there was a dipstick on most model like ours. Do not see one on the tank in picture. Do see a sight glass which is painted over, and a plug.

Hyd reservoir - iRV2.com RV Photo Gallery

1. How to check the fluid level?
2. How to add fluid?
3. Filter replacement, are they in this tank?

Thanks.

Sorry for the link, photo insertion is not my friend.

The sight gauge is the "boss" on the right of your picture... it has been painted over. It is clear plastic. The cylindrical container is a reservoir, no filter in there. My cylindrical reservoir has a filler neck and cap. The reservoir is horizontal (note: picture needs to be rotated clockwise). Mine does not have a dipstick; I dip it with a stick through the filler neck.

Oooops, just re-read and noticed that you called your a Hyd container. Mine is the coolant reservoir. Could they have used the same type container for hyd and coolant (???)

Romeo. Your MH in your profile pic is the exact same as ours, very nice. The hydraulic reservoir is to the right of the coolant tank up against the engine compartment wall. Thanks.

Mine has a small neck and cap on the lid. Dipstick is on the cap. The filter x3 are in the tank. There are 2 cap screws that losses to release the band that holds the lid on

Thanks all. I found it, was in a rush and didn't get a light or bend down a bit to see back there. Edhildy the dipstick is in the back as you describe. I cleaned the paint off the glass and it works properly know. Will pull off the top and change the filter soon. Thanks again.
