hydro hot

my hydro hot run,s hot and cold on the residential wter. heat is fine. I have scalding hot water and then it slowly turns to tepid, turn it off and back on and it,s hot again. the stir pump has been replace. this is in a 2002 mountainaire. any idea,s??? thank,s Doug

Do you have too much water pressure or to much flow? I found mine is more stable if I just run coach pump when showering instead of supply water.

Have you got your outside shower faucets fully closed. If not they will act as a mixing valve.

We had precisely this problem.

The fix was to replace the tempering valve that controls the temperature of the domestic hot water. On our coach, that valve is located on the outlet side of the hydro-hot where it can be easily accessed. the valve was about $150.00 from Monaco parts (it's a Honeywell valve, no doubt available from plumbing suppliers) and took about 30 minutes to replace.

Since replacing, the domestic hot water temperature has been stable making for comfortable showers.

Yes, that valve is adjustable - if its working.

Ours wasn't and after replacement, the system works as it's supposed to.
