Final wrap-up on my hydro-hot. It is supposedly fixed. I will pick it up Saturday. Newmar said "no" to paying for repair. Hydro-hot said "no" to paying for repair. Owner/GM of dealer called me and accepted responsibility for poorly handled situation and is absorbing bill. Why noone wants to pay to repair my ten month old coach, I don't know. The dealer is Beckley's camping center in Thurmont Md. Thanks for all your help -- especially Bob Gregory.

P.S. Could one of the moderators PM me so I may discuss something off topic.

Keith,
Can you share what the problem with the Hydro Hot and what exactly was repaired? I am interested in hearing why Vehicle Systems and Newmar would not cover the system given a new coach and the Hydro Hot would not run.
Like you said earlier, the only reason you should have had to pay for repair is if the system needed a tuneup.

MBnKen,
I have never been told what the exact CAUSE was. I am hoping to pick my coach up today. Maybe the receipt will spell it out. I will let you know when I find out.
Keith

FYI -- the only time ours didn't fire up right away was after sitting in the cold for a few days. We turned on the electric for a while and then the diesel started right up -- I speculate that with the cold it may have been the diesel starting to gel or moving too slowly through the filter and with the compartment warmed it took care of itself.

BTW -- we've since had it down to 12F in a windy area and never had a problem.

Greetings from Casa Grande, AZ

I had an identical problem with the HydroHot in my 06 Alpine Apex back in Georgia last November. Turned out to be caused by a sooty ignitor. They cleaned the combustion chamber and also put in a new nozzle and fuel filter.VS did not cover under warranty!

Problem came back last week and I am scheduled for repairs on the 23rd at Beaudry.

We love the HydroHot and will never again have a coach without it.
