Is that specific to the xite radio?

No, it is also true with the stand alone rand McNally units too
They all use the same software.

I am now 90% complete with this project. I have been able to accomplish far more than I thought originally possible. Here is a quick summary and some screen shots.
* fully functional am/fm radio
* fully functional bluetooth for hands free calling and music streaming
* fully functional waze,coPilot, and google maps
* fully functional spotify and audible
* fully functional OmniVue 360 on a much larger screen
* full integration of Omnivue DVR for all 4 cameras with GPS.
* quick access to IP cameras, and full PTZ control.
* ability to use any application Picture in Picture, or side by side.
Bonus option of camera overview while other app is being used for even faster access.
* FULLY FUNCTIONAL VMSPC...this shocked me that I was able to do this so easily. I can run this split screen with waze or dedicated full screen. Easily swap back and forth with voice or finger commands/gestures.
**still to do:
Finish tpms integration
Finish the HUD installation. I am enlarging the original to be more fitting for a motorhome.
Cleanup my mess
This has eliminated my tablet, cell phone, and xite from the dash giving me a much cleaner display area.
Attached are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Looks good. What exactly is the omnivue DVR and where did you get it?

It's a 4 channel dvr that records the feed from.the 4 cameras along with GPS information. There is enough storage for 12 days of 24x7 recording. I have it setup on a timer to continue to record for 200 hours after turning the ignition off.
This will record audio and video.
I purchased it direct from Camos in Korea.

Not sure what you are experiencing. Just did a trip from Myrtle Beach to Orlando and waypoints worked perfectly, just created multistep using the addresses I imported from RVTripwizard and started the nav. Never needed to turn it off, actually missed one waypoint by about 1 mile and it just gave me the option to skip it.
Works better that the Clarian in my CS, and more seamless than the old Garmin I had.
As far as screen size is concerned, I would have appreciated being able to have a larger screen, but just for the 360 camera's. We always run Google Maps on an iPad as a double check and so far routing, by RM, seems to be a little better since it knows vehicle characteristics.
IMO: While it might not be the BEST unit, seems more than adequate.

10" screen on the other hand would be wonderful.

I have much of it working. I am not happy with the hardware I chose, so I have ordered 2 more head units for comparison.

I've come fairly late to this conversation and only stumbled upon it while searching for blue ray options.
I just bought a 2013 Winnebago Via, a 25ft Class A on a Sprinter chassis. It came with an Xite radio in the dash but the navigation was the version before the Rand McNally and did not include information for HazMat (LP) so the routing in from the Mid Atlantic to NE was useless. I am considering an upgrade to the current version with the 7" screen.
I am used to the Rand McNally as I have been using the RVND 7720 in my previous Class C (also Sprinter chassis) and put a Pioneer AVH-4000NEX in the dash. While the Rand McNally isn't perfect it is better than the Google/Apple/Waze apps since they don't account for the vehicle size. I suppose I could just keep the Rand McNally dedicated unit and get a different radio that doesn't have the navigation internally, using the CarPlay apps for comparison. But I like the idea of a clear dash and a single screen, plus it covers the 3 cameras (I suspect most of the replacements would do that too since the camera combiner is external to the Xite radio).
Any suggestions? (or used 7" Xite for sale?)
Thanks.

I am taking a different route than Redbaron. Yesterday I installed a Pioneer AVIC8400NEX. This unit uses Nuvi maps which are what Garmin uses. It has an 8" screen, two camera inputs and an HDMI camera input. It features wireless Apple Car Play (not an Apple fan) and wireless Android Auto. I have Android Auto in my Canyon and it works great. By having Nuvi maps I am not using or dependent on data and can switch to Android Auto Google maps if/when needed. Just like Redbaron I am working through the bugs of setting everything up but the unit is installed and working as far as the radio, XM etc. I use one of the camera inputs for my VMSpc as I did with the Xite. Will post further just wanted to share this for thought and comments.

I am now on my 2nd Android Head unit. The first head unit met all of my critera, and worked great until I discovered Blue Fire as a VMSPC replacement. There are 2 models of the Blue Fire Adapter. The one on Amazon uses BT Low Energy (BT4.x) and their other model uses BT2.x.
The original head unit I installed only supported BT2, and that support was not great. I have ordered a new head unit that supports BT5.0 and will be comparing the two units side by side.
I also ordered a J1939 Y cable so that I can run VMSPC and BlueFire side by side. I am going to tap into the Y cable for the ODB-II signals to the Android head unit, since all of these head units support additional features for ODB display out of the box.
I don't intend to keep all of these inputs for daily use, but rather I am experimenting to see which combination is the least hassle, and provides the most useful information. My DW is already threating not to drive if she can't just use the radio, cruise, and drive like normal, so my goal is to keep everything extremely natural and intuitive.
I also have an uphill battle to prove that Waze (which is her favorite GPS app, mainly due to getting points while driving ) can run on the radio and still allow simple selection of music while driving. I made the mistake of giving her the nerd demo before I showed the normal demo.
