Thanks….was trying to avoid pulling out the bedroom slide/ bed. I suspect that one is the smaller one?
The 2 motors on the FWS is easy enough to get to…

So on my 3rd slide (the bedroom) I lifted up the bed and discovered that the slide motor is mounted completely different than the other two slides. instead of it being mounted vertically as in the other two, the bolts are horizontal. Its bolted to the floor is the best analogy i can think of without having a picture on hand to show you. The bolts holding it down were much smaller and closer together.

Both of my slide motors use the 9/16 bolts so I ordered 2 BRV102 kits.

The 102 is not on the web site. However good info on sizing.

Slide out bolts
I use aircraft drilled bolts for safety wire. Lots of uses on coach. Very easy to do and very inexpensive!

so... 1/2” bolt head uses BRV103, 9/16” bolt head (not bolt as this says, but bolt head) uses BRV101? this still says “ then you need the BRV102 “. does that apply or should it say BRV101 also?

Gotta love #50 hole and .051 ss safety wire. NOTHING is moving and cheap!

So all my bolts are 9/16 (need a 9/16 socket to tighten/loosen) I ordered the BRV101. The 1/2 inch bolts require the other kit, BRV103.

ok, so here is my question??? why are they loosening up? are they stretching?? or vibrating loose? what grade is from the factory? grade 8 or grade 5? or like so many other things that I've run into on this coach did they cheap it out and use unrated hardness bolts??? any one know??
If it was an automotive application I'd say the cheaped it out and they are stretching and need to be upgraded to grade 8 to prevent loosening with lock washers on both sides.

The torque from the motor opening and closing the slide works them loose over time.

The pix of the new bolt kit are grade 5 what are the originals? I've had pretty good luck with grade 8's not loosening up in movement prone mountings like gas tank brackets and such. True, they are not cheap but would seem a good upgrade to begin with. And 19 ftlb for that size of bolt seems a little light to me, I'd go at least 25 more like 30 ftlb. Fella says that he used loctite and lock washers and they still came loose, I'd suspect that the bolts are stretching not vibrating loose. Which means they need to be switched out for a higher grade/harder bolt. Unless they are having problems with bolt shear because to small of bolt was used... then nothing will help keep them tight.

You can’t over torque them, because they are threading into aluminum….

Thank you, I think you’re on to a good solution that would work for me. I don’t see the bolts loosening with this solution. Some say the bolts don’t go far enough into the aluminum housing, so flexing could still crack the housing. Maybe, but for starters I’d be happy if the bolts would stop vibrating loose. I think I’ll try this.
Thanks again,
