1. Lift the hinged portion of the bed.
2. remove anything stored under there.
3. remove the carpeted panel on the rear end of the bed. (2 screws)
It will be close to the outside wall.

The Loctite was there and I am thinking that there is so much stress and vibration on those little bolts going into aluminum they are vibrating loose or worse, the aluminum housing is stretching.
I will find out, I ordered 3 sets of the Stage 8 fasteners yesterday. I will check a couple in 6 months after the install to see if they are still at the proper torque. If they are not that means the aluminum housing is stretching. I will report back.
At any rate, after years of this is a crappy design Newmar continues to stay with the design. As a Honda Dealer it just blows my mind of the total disregard and we don't give a damn attitude towards the customers when the fix could be so easy.

Since almost a year has past since you switched out your bolts to Stage 8, any update on how this fix is holding up? Is this the final act?
Thanks

I did the Stage 8 fix a year ago as well. No movement at all, as is the design of the Stage 8 system.

Are you going to do Stage 8 or the SLS method? I have been leaning towards SLS method myself.

I did Stage 8 on all 3 yesterday. Not difficult just a little time consuming working in cramped spaces. The bedroom slide was actually the easiest after I decided to lay on the dogs bed to protect my ribs.
I had tried the longer studs with double nuts, Loctite and that did not work. Within a few weeks a recheck showed several loose .
Stage 8 is so straight forward and it is literally impossible for the bolts to loosen up once put on.

All 3 motors take the same kit.

So there is lots of detail with the SLS method.
What is the best method to install the Stage 8? Slide in of out, clean the hole with what, locktite bolts and then torque to the 19 lbs? What is the best way to install the locking washers. What are the things to do and not do.
I’m asking since I to purchase the stage 8. Seems straight forward but…..
Thanks
