Mine has a pretty long run as seen in the Pics.
The biggest thing is the Echo through the pipe that amplifies the noise.
Sounded like I was at the Airport LOL.

Operation "Quite Oasis" done. Installed a muffler and the air intake silencer. I have to say, I'm very imprrssed with how much it quieted it down, well worth the $85. Thanks for the great idea. Now on to the generator, I bought a Cummins muffler to install.

Is the intake silencer the black tube in the photo? For some reason, I had it in my mind that it was an internal component.

Yes, that’s it. Quite frankly it would be very easy to make. It just a piece of 2”aluminum pipe that is foam lined on the inside with a 2 black abs drain pipe coupling on each end.

Ordered the air intake silencer today. If anyone was wondering, it was $50.00 from ITR.

Yep not worth running around chasing parts to build one.
It was listed and pictured when I created the thread.
Glad you are continuing to do small projects.
What else you thinking of.

I installed the silencer yesterday. It flows either direction, but one end is a little larger OD then the other. It's designed so that you remove the hose from the floor attachment, (plate) slip it over the plate, screw it down, shorten the hose and attach it to the other end. Just my luck, Newmar installed two screws on the lower portion of the hose, one on the side of the bay wall, which was not accessible. So, I cut the hose, about six inches up and inserted the silencer, but had to file the outside diameter of one end of the silencer so the hose would fit.
I serviced the unit and fired it up. It's hard to tell, but it sounded like it took some of the rumble out of the unit. Now with the silencer and muffler, I'm less likely to offend my neighbors, which is often one of my daughters in their RV.

I've had several people ask what it was that I was running through the night. I then educated them about the Oasis. After reading this entire thread, I realized how poorly I had educated them.
Part way through the post, I had created a BOM (thank you Ted) and a to-do to install a muffler and intake silencer on our Oasis.
After reading additional input, I learned for the most part, the burner isn't needed. Just use the AC1 and/or AC2, particularly when 50a is available. Maybe the burner while traveling or at least right before cg arrival to bring the hot water temps up to a manageable level for the electric elements.
Then the mention of the genturi. I'm now to the point of why install a muffler if I'm not going to get rid of the deep rumble tone output by the Oasis. ??? If I find a time that I absolutely need to use the Oasis, hook up the genturi. Yes - it's not a one & done but hopefully will send the offending sound into space.
We have boondocked at a Nascar cg and are required to use the genturi for the generator. I imagine they'll require the same for the Oasis.
Has anyone come up with a clean genturi modification? I believe it will require a 90 and a run to get beyond the FWS.
Thanks again to everyone for all of the great information and ideas.
Ken

Using your electric heating elements will limit your A/C Microwave, hair dryer, cloths dryer usage.
I prefer to leave the OASIS to heating the water,
The generator even with a Genturi is still a lot louder and more annoying then the furnace that only runs occasionally.
With these mods I no longer annoy my neighbors.
The combination of the inlet silencer, Muffler, and turn down does a great job of cutting the noise in 1/2.
You do have the option to run both Oasis furnace and 1 or 2 electric elements combined to reduce cycling.
You can attach a Genturi to your Oasis easily just make the turn down removable or don't run a turn down.
But... I feel the rumble or jet noise may then get amplified and echo even worse.
the amount of time it runs is a couple minutes vs a generator that runs constantly so I don't feel a genturi is required or useful.
The burner while traveling will not come on as the engine also heats your hot water.
Ted.

A Genturi is fine.....IF your Oasis exhaust exits between slides or at the rear, otherwise, no way to attach a Genturi.

Old post by IVYLOG - who used to post often on the forum, where do they go?
#28 may work on the HH or the Generator - Both - Good image so you can see what's needed and how it works.
I Had the space and got so tired of the Noise I just added a 10 Gallon residential HWH - works great is in line with the HH and the Engine loop so I get plenty of Hot wat and it never makes a sound.
Just one more way to make it work for whomever,

Thanks Ted..
It's been a long time since I had to use a hair dryer but losing AC is another matter. Back to the muffler/silencer. I have never welded so I will have to leave this task to someone else. The rig is at Cummins for some warranty work. I'll first check with them. If they won't tackle this, what kind of shop would you recommend that I take this to? I don't want to trust just ANY muffler shop with our DS.
Don, there may still be a time where we'll be required to use a Genturi on our Oasis. Fortunately, the output (like yours) is just in front of the rear tire. I found where someone had run a 3' extension with a 90. I'd have to measure this but believe it will clear the FWS.
