Inexpensive "fix" for dim patio light

I asked for and received some good advice here on how to replace the ridiculously dim patio light. Ended up going to our local Menard's store and finding a Meridian Bright White LED Wedge Base Bulb for about $5. It draws 3 watts compared to 9 watts for the original, but puts out 300 lumens vs. about 80 for the original. Now I'll be able to actually see what I'm cooking on the grill Next up, I plan on replacing the basement bulbs with LEDs.

In QT's # 3 PDR Johns MOD Section he placed LED wiring through all his compartments of his DSDP which may give you some hints for yours.
In the same link there is a LED Liting section for all interior lighting and running lights of coach, headlights & tail lights.
Good job on patio light.

Glad to see some local stores carrying high lumen 12V LED bulbs at reasonable prices. Back when I outfitted the Canyon Star, the only place I could source these at a reasonable price was through eBay. No one locally had them and the other online sellers thought their high lumen bulbs were made of Gold and priced them accordingly!

I replaced my patio light with an LED and when it’s on I lose one or more tv channels.

Dim lights usually means one of the following:
Low/dead battery
Wrong bulb
Blub nearing end of life and so "livered" that little light gets out
Bad wire (high resistance)

The LED upgrade fixed that last problem.

NOTE: you will likely see it come back
You need to track it down and eradicate it.

Same thing happened to us. Turns out we chose a more expensive LED that uses a constant current regulator (i.e. switching power supply). If not designed well they interfere with TV's, etc. Believe it or not, using the cheap ones with plain resistors to drop the voltage solved our issue, and they were cheaper! Not as efficient, but we could watch TV with the lights on and still way more efficient than incandescent or fluorescent.

Thanks 007, there is a ton to read there. I plan on going through it all in the coming months. Appreciate the work you've put into organizing it all!

When I turn on the TV, my head hurts. I'd rather watch the patio light.
