Install New AC's on a Newmar

For those of you apprehensive in installing new AC's in your coach this link ----- plus mounting info -- by Newmar is information given to owner for install of his. This link is in QT's # 3 -- Problem Solving

I believe two engineers that have two threads describing their installs of their new AC's may cause concern in installing yours.

# 1 --- A better way to install heat pumps

# 2 --- Dometic Brisk Aire II install in Newmar

If you want to tackle their installs you now have all the information if you need any further answers of your concerns in doing so call Newmar Tech for the information.

Since I am the author and installer of #2 (the Brisk Air II) I'll add a few comments. Don't personally attempt this unless you are in reasonably good health, able to lift at least 75 lb., are not afraid of being on your roof, and have at least a week to accomplish the task. You'll also need good weather or a covered work area.

It will certainly help if you have both mechanical and electrical skills.

You'll also need to budget about $3500 for parts and materials (no labor) for 3 Brisk Air II top units, 1 CCC2 thermostat, and 4 controllers.

So far, I'm very happy with my new units and consider my money and time well spent.

I'd also like to thank "Lass" for sharing his experience in installing new Blizzard units in lieu of Penguin II units. This also required ductwork changes.

Bruce, nice touch and you are welcome. We each took a different direction but ended up with the same results and so far, it's working out for both of us. The only advantage that I had with the Blizzard installation was having the availability of a fab shop for the custom plenum which allowed me to maintain the current supply / return configuration. Your project looks bigger than mine.

If anyone is interested here's a short PDF of the major parts of my install. Bruce, you'll recognize some of the pictures.
