Put a spring between the antenna and the mount in case it does hit something so you don't break anything. Those shorter antenna are less flexible, and the spring will flex instead of breaking something on the antenna, mount, or structure it's attached to. The spring will hurt your transmit and receive a tiny bit, but I doubt anyone could notice on such a short antenna anyways.
