Installing additional A/C Vents in Ceiling
Has anyone installed additional A/C vents in the ceiling of their coach? Our 2014 Bay Star 3103 bedroom area doesn't seem to have enough airflow. Does anyone have any tips on installation, where and how?

Interesting that in our Essex we have covered vents because it is to much air flow for both AC and Heat pump.

Same for our Ventana. There is TOO much air flow in the bedroom.

We have 2 supplies and 2 returns. Do you have more in your Essex and Ventana?

Hi pitacrew3,
I also have two return and 2 supply vents. The difference in performance may not be the number of vents (remember some coaches are 45' long and will have more vents). The difference may be the number of HVAC units on the roof. I am a 40' coach with 2 13.5 HVAC units on the roof. The rear HVAC unit is directly over the bedroom. I have plenty of volume of ait in the bedroom. Heat or air there is plenty of it.

Same here we have 2 of the same size units and one is directly above the bedroom for our 31 footer.

Same with our 40' '02 DSDP, even down to the 13.5 heat pumps. Could use the bedroom for a meat locker.

Interesting comments. Me? I'd love more supply capacity, since the louvered ceiling cover only allows about 15% of the air to go through. Sure wish I had more...this thing does not cool well in the Texas or Florida heat.

Hi Newmarpusher;
As soon as it warms up in the frozen north and I get my bus out of hibernation, I'm going to have a real good look at the whole HVAC delivery setup, and figure out what (if anything) can be done. I have all of the necessary air delivery testing instrumentation. I'll be reporting what I find to the interested folks on irv2.

Hi pitacrew3,
With a HVAC unit directly above the bedroom, and not enough air flow into the bedroom, something is wrong. Unfortunately, it will take disassembly of the HVAC unit from the roof to make sure there is no blockage of the air ducts. One should also make sure the HVAC unit is working properly. There is a single fan the circulates the air. This can be observed by removing the shroud covering the HVAC unit.

I have 3 units on my 15 Ventana , was not happy with the output for the bedroom so I placed a foam air dam in the duct after the last vent before the half bath, it changed the output to the bedroom.
