Interesting Data

Headed from Phoenix to Austin Tx for F1 race.

We did 675 miles today, two drivers. Stopped in a really nice rest area short of Fort Stockton.

Oil temp ranged 220 to 239
Trans temp 196 to 207
Def temp 74 to 99
Air temp 60 to 80 degs

Cruise set at 67
MPG 7.1. No toad

New Koni front shocks fixed porpoising problem.

Blue Fire worked great

Did not need def head bypass

All in all great day! 350 miles or so to go to Austin.

Always nice to have a day like that. These days Id want a relief driver doing that many miles too. Used to be a light day on the road. With a 2021, you might be in the right side of the def head debacle. Keep it up!

Great to hear. If your going to the F1 race remember to go to Lockhart just down the road for some great BBQ at Black’s and Kreutez’s!

That is a great new Rest Stop, isn’t it. Lots of truck parking but also RV parking away from the trucks.

Texas has built a number of these new larger rest stop. There’s one way down I-10 near Louisiana, too. I know there are more of them, but don’t know where they all are.

Well, Google does. I just found this map. All the ones in red stars are these new Safety Rest Stops:

Yes, the rest areas are really impressive very safe feeling and clean. Oh and unlike AZ they are actually open.

Thanks for the BBQ recommendation, will definitely go.

We are staying at La Hacienda RC resort until Wednesday then we go to the track and have a spot trackside through Monday. Looking forward to finally seeing COTA.

I live just north of San Antonio and used to love going to races. Just kind of drifted away. I've wanted to make a plan to go to COTA ever since it opened... just never seems to do the research to find a race I want to attend.
