Interior step cover

Interior step cover does not work when pushing button on console. 15AMP fuse is good. No noise from step motor. They worked last trip, now nothing. Ideas??

- A wire has become disconnected or is broken.
- Terminal connections at the switch or motor are corroded.
- The switch has failed.
- The step motor has failed.
- You checked the wrong fuse.

Find the motor and check for 12 VDC power with a multimeter while someone activates the switch. If you have power, then suspect the motor; if not, start working backwards until you find power. That should give you a clue as to what is going on.

Good luck.

New problem with my Interior Step cover. When in the normal position for entry and exit of coach, it seems to creep out so that the top vertical portion is angled out toward the door. When I push back it doesn’t move and I can’t see any obstruction. If I run it out and back I can push it back in place but it later creeps out. Anyone have this problem and a solution?

On my step the pin inside the long hinge ( top of lower step)worked its way forward and was lodged into the carpet at the front of the step well.
I used a flat screwdriver to push it rearward back inside the hinge.

Follow Tranquil Jim’s Suggestions

Tranquil Jim is spot on. Follow his suggestions in the order he listed them and you should find your problem.

I see what is causing the problem. Five screws have come out of the bottom horizontal step that should be attached to the framework that moves the step in and out.
