Interior steps actuator on 2003 KSDP
Had a interior step actuator failure. Finally got the assembly apart and found the 3 screws holding the gearbox on the Duff-Norton LM100-1-150 actuator pulled out of the housing. After some wizard work drilling and tapping the housing I got it back together and all works fine. Any other folks out there have this problem. I have yet to find a replacement online. I would be interested in your input...Thanks

We purchase our 2001 Mountain Aire 4095 last January and the power step actuator was non-working...it took the dealer 2 months to get one for us...it was a different actuator...LT100-1-S002 was the part number with an attached price tag on the box of $311.67...Glad they picked that one up...So good job, you probably saved a chunk...or if you're like me the $1000 new tools I had to buy for the project worked great and I saved money....hahaha...

I had the tools for the job. Actually the OEM screws could have been longer and the housing probably would have never pulled apart. Go figure!!

Heavy Duty 6" Linear Actuator Stroke 225 Pound Max Lift 12 Volt DC | eBay.
I found this after I spent the big bucks with Graingers for mine. I'm thinking about purchasing another just in case mine breaks again. It's not the best design in other words not one of Newmar's better ideas. Hope this helps

I share your pain,
When i bought my rig the actuator was not working. The screws holding the housing together had stripped away and the previous owner had tried to effect a repair which was a good idea except that when he had it apart, he lost the little Main Gear so the gear box was inoperative. Tried to buy the gear but the supplier would not sell just the gear and they claimed it to be an Exclusive Assembly to Newmar and I would have to buy from them.
So, I called Newmar and they only sell the assembly for about $300. I purchased the new assembly and installed it and also added the OP's fix to ensure the screws do not strip out again. Now it's better than new, performance proven.........

You really did beef up the assembly with the end caps. Good idea and a legitimate fix for the gearbox assembly. Luckily all my parts were there when I got the step up so I could access the assembly. Thanks for the help.

Great Idea Dennis. I'll do that with mine. I installed the 250lbs version when I replaced it.

Thanks but it wasn't really my idea. I just took it from the PO and put it on the new assembly as insurance since the new part was the same as the old one and would likely just be a matter of time before it came apart also and my $300 is down the drain. (:
