Is Slide-out Cog Wheel Hole Wear Normal

I have a 2018 Ventana. The slide outs are the cogwheel design. My full wall slide has three cogwheel drives and dhafts. On two of the three cog wheel drives, the holes on the slide shafts are showing bare metal. On one half of each cog hole, the holes for the cogs are showing bare metal whereas the opposite side of a hole the paint is not chafted. In other words, half of the hole has a slightly rounded edge whereas the other half has a sharp edge. The third show no wear at all. I also have a living room slide with two drives and some of those cog holes are showing wear.

I figure I only have about a hundred and twenty-five in and out cycles on the slides. Is this normal?

There will be wear and may not be same for each cog wheel, if you observe the operation as slides move in or out look to see no warble of cog on shaft or abrupt entrance of cog nipple into hole on rail.
Are there iron filings collecting below the rail tracks ?
The LR slide will have more pressure on nipples of cog moving up ramp so wear will be different.
If everything runs smoothly no loud noises would be normal wear.
The rails are not flat more of a incline as they travel so one side of hold would show more wear.
QT's 1 & 2 has the slide info and trouble spec's that might help.

The wearable areas that I see are actually on the slide out shafts are one side of the cog holes. There is also some bare metal showing on some of the cogs studs on the cog wheels. I don't see any filings, the only thing I see is if I touched the affected area on the cogwheels there might be a little tiny bit of metal on my finger. It is almost as if the slides need some lubrication.

Other RVs I had, had slide-out rack and pinion slide-out mechanisms. I did see some wear it was able to control it using some lubricant. I know Newmar says that no lubricant is needed in there slide-out assemblies.

On one of the three shafts on my full wall slide also shows some rusted we're on the bottom side of the shaft that mates with the cogs. The other two shafts show nowhere at all in the paint is intact.

My warranty runs out soon and and we will not return home till after the warranty has expired. I've had some additional issues and I've already contacted Newmar with other items so these things can be fixed after the warranty coverage expires. I guess I'll be talking to them Monday morning.

Thanks for your help.

The filings are of concern if guide bolts of slide maybe loose and slide mechanics are not tracking correctly.
I would take some pictures of rails involved and cog wheels for when you visit Newmar.

Hi mre,
For me, the answer is no it is not normal for an 2018. I have a 4 slide coach. An 05. Got 125K on the odometer. Untold in and out cycles. There is no noticeable wear on the cog wheel or the slide shafts.

Not an expert but I would also think noticeable wear on a 2018 is not normal.
