is this elsewhere?
We have a strange turn of events in my area. We have a Circle K about a mile from us who put in Truck Islands a couple years ago after the closest Truck-stop went under. It has it's own entrance/exit away from the car pumps and such. Here is what I haven't seen for a while, the price for diesel is 25 cents +/- LOWER than regular unleaded gas. Dieselis $2.89.9 where unleaded is $3.10.9. Is this nationwide trend or just a local one? Unleaded is $2.89.9 down the road.

Not in Northern California, diesel is still +.20-.30 cents over regular via Gas Buddy App.

Must be something where you are. Our diesel is still 10 to 15 higher than unleaded.
Fuel prices make you want to take that trip.

I saw that last year in NM and TX. It seems to be a temporary regional phenomenon.

I have seen diesel lower than regular in Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada on my winter trip this year.

They're pricing their diesel very competitively. Diesel is consistently higher than gas by 20-40cents lately, BUT with an open roads card, the price is competitive, even a little less than gas, and much less volatile than the sign price, both with time and location.

An apples to apples comparison the 87 Octane gas with ethanol is higher priced at $3.54 than diesel fuel at $3.24 at our nearest (within 30 miles) Western Colorado's rundown truck stop which is located out on a very rural stretch of I-70. 85 Octane gasoline is cheaper though than the diesel by 10 cents, but then there's no owner's manual which recommends using it. That's what we use though. Never have filled up with the diesel pumps due to the card readers have remained inoperable for years.
Nearer to our home within the Rockies our local fuel station's 85 Octane gas with ethanol is $4.699 and the diesel is $5.399.

Diesel is about $1 more per gallon than 87 in my area.

I agree with SafariBen. While the diesel pump price is 30 to 40 cents more than gas, the Open Roads card brings the two very close in my area. Of course Open Roads is a Trucker tool as well, so my guess would be that they are just being competitive for that segment without the costs of a separate program?

Ran into diesel being about same price as reg gas in Mesa, AZ in January. Just one station. Cheapest diesel is $2.89 outside Austin, tx. Reg gas about 30 cents cheaper.

Driving around San Antonio today I noticed most stations had diesel less than regular. That's not the norm. I'd fill up if I didn't already have a full tank...

Some stations post lower prices, but it may only pertain to using a loyalty card. Shady advertising, but probably not illegal.
We have a few gas stations that post the loyalty price and right below it, in smaller numbers, the non-loyalty price.

I understand we all do what we can no matter how limited it is to navigate the ridiculously
high prices we are forced to pay when it comes to petroleum products. I guess Diesel, Kerosene, and Fuel Oil on one spectrum with Propane on the other upset me the most. Diesel, Kerosene, and Fuel Oil used to be at most half the price Gasoline. That's right half the price! Propane used to be cheap because it is a waste gas produced from trying to get the oil out of the ground. They used to burn it to get rid of it a lot like dumps burn off methane. Diesel and fuels like it are not refined as much as Gasolines and cost less to produce. Yield per barrel is higher also. When I see the price of Diesel drop below Gas I think to myself for a short time pricing is a little closer to where it belongs. Sorry for the Rant!
