ITR Heat Oasis excellent customer support

I was getting less and less hot water while using the summer loop pump. My initial thought was failure of the summer loop pump but, since it was intermittent I decided to call the technicians at ITR Heat before squeezing myself into the bay to remove the panel. However, that didnít last long as the technician said I had to get the distribution module panel off first to confirm whether or not the summer loop pump was failed.

I worked myself into the bay and removed the wood piece hiding the module and then removed the screws on the panel. Summer loop pump was running. Technician had me bang on the check valve above the summer loop pump and instantly I hear the fluid move through the check valve and I soon have hot water.

Now, after that long story hereís where the real customer support comes into play. When I opened the distribution module panel what I saw inside was not a pretty picture. Every single brass fitting inside was corroded from leaking. And, I seriously mean every fitting. It was as if the pipe dope was never put on any single fitting. The strange thing was I never noticed any leaks while I was looking at the module and the system was running. The corrosion had apparently sealed the leaking for the time being. When I mentioned this to the technician he stated that ITR had no control over the Newmar installation. I stated that Newmar only added hoses and clips to the outside of the module and nothing on the outside was leaking. The only leaking was factory installed parts internally. They asked for photos. I sent photos and in less than an hour they emailed me stating they would ship me a new distribution module at no charge. I could do the install myself or pay to have it done.

I was extremely happy with getting the new distribution module at three years and, now I have to decide if I want to crawl into the bay for a few hours of work.

A couple of months ago, just before the big freeze our summer pump went out and then Zone 2 pump went out. I had ITR send 3 of the new style pumps and replaced all 3. I did not have corrosion like this and glad ITR is stepping up and sending new distribution box, it should also come with new style pumps.
Hardest part for you should be removing hose clamps and hoses off of barbed fittings. Someone gave me advice and said to circulate system with it on, to get hoses warm to make removal easier. Get plenty of old towels and hose clamp locking pliers.

David.
ITR said the pumps are the new models and the are also sending me a new zone control board. They told me I would not need it but, to keep it as a spare.
My only issue is I have a bad hip and being cooped up in the bay while I complete this process will be challenging.
ITR is sending me the instructions and , also said I will have to purge the system. I guess at three years I might as well just put in all new fluid. I have all the tools to do the job so, I guess I will have to deal with the bad hip. The dealer near me is out to July for a service appointment and thatís just to get on the service lot. Then I get to wait as they move through at 50 coaches before they get it to the shop. So it looks like self install is the only way I will see my coach in this short Minnesota summer.

Do you have a mobile tech that can come and swap it out? I find them easier and faster at getting anything done over a dealership, and often cheaper. I have a bad back and the knees need replaced so I love using the mobile techs.

There is a Oasis certified Technician about an hour away from me. I will contact him. Every time I look into the bay and think about being squeezed in there to complete the project I realize I need to find someone else qualified to do the job.
