Do you have to have water pump on circulation water through the AquaHot for the furnace to work?? I have set the Control to furnace but can not tell if it is running etc.

How do heat the coach when it gets below 40 and the heat pump will not work at that temperature.

Assuming all circuit breakers and fuses are good, and the AquaHot is fully functional, on our control we set 'System' to Heat, Zone 1 and/or 2, and 'Mode' to gas (which is the diesel burner in the AquaHot)., and last adjust temperature. You should hear the diesel burner kick in to heat the water, and several minutes later the air circulation fans in the radiator locations turn on. Sorry, if you already did these things and still no heat. If not, check your breakers and fuses based on the owner manual, or call for tech support if they are 24/7.

Are you plugged in? If so, what amp plug?
Is the diesel burner on? Are the electric element(s) on?
If the main tank is not up to temp the furnace will not run.
Did you look in the oasis compartment and make sure the main power is on?

Hi skw,
To answer your second question, consider calling Newmar and asking: "When the heat pumps are set to heat and the temp falls below the ability of the heat pumps to provide heat, does the system automatically start the Aqua-Hot?"
I have heat pumps and a Suburban propane furnace. The switch from heat pumps to propane furnace is automatic.
I'm hoping you find out the same is for your coach. Please post Newmar's reply here, so we can all learn.

Welcome to the forum and irv2.
Need to know the year of your MA so I can give you more information for your coach.
Stay in this forum for your heating questions other MFG Forums can not help you.
Heat pumps will not work below 40* and some heat combinations the furnace will come on automatically.
HP also will not heat your tank areas the furnace is needed for that in cold weather.
In my signature below there are links to bring you to threads all about heating systems in Newmars and they will lead you to links providing trouble shooting spec's for your heater.

Thank Yall!!
Thank everyone for the info!!
I am in the very top of the Texas Panhandle. Stratford. The night time temps are getting down to the 20's.
We have finally got the furnace going.
FYI - If anyone ever has this problem.... There is a reset button on the AquaHot!!! Use a toothpick to reset!!
We had our MH in the shop for repairs and they let the batteries run down. When we picked it up, they had to boost it. When it fell below the range for power - don't really know the correct terms - it kicked off the AquaHot.
As soon as we reset the furnace kicked right on. Warm and toasty inside now!!! Thank you all again!!

Its good to hear your warm and toasty.
As long as your plugged in to service your Bird System will get all your batteries fully charged but will take a while.
Did you purchase new or used, if used can supply Owners Guide and you also can pick it up in the COM_NET link by following the instructions.
Hope it warms up for you can not say about N.E. any time soon.
