Our almost 4 week old Essex that has spent 3 weeks down for problems is NOW FIXED and tomorrow we'll be off to the International Rally in Essex Junction. We should be good to go as they've replaced the wheel seals, shock and fan belt assemly and solved the coolant leak issue.

We got the coach back late today, cleaned it up and it's ready for an early am departure. We're psyched and looking forward to actually going somewhere (other than to the shop) with the coach. See you in Vermont.

I'm not sure our coach has been less buggy. We haven't even touched the things that do not effect actually moving down the road. Bob, fortunately you have paved the way and we checked the fan belt and were able to have that fixed before we broke down. For a less than month old coach, misaligned fan belt, a broken wheel seal, broken shock, defective cooling line and loose windshield wipers seem like a lot of problems that shouldn't have happened with any coach let alone one this expensive. We are thinking positive and hoping to have our first uneventful trip to Essex Junction, where, perhaps we can have some of the things fixed that don't effect the driveability of the coach.

We bought the coach at Howard RV because they sell Essexes, keep them in stock and have a good reputation. They are also on our way south. Also, Diprizio Truck service in Middleton, NH did a great job fixing our coach and even discovered the broken shock which could have done some severe damage.

So, off we go to a, hopefully, uneventful coach ride!

Here's hoping for an uneventful and FUN time in your new coach...

After all, that's what it's SUPPOSED to be all about now isn't it?

I too have tried, through all the adversity to remain positive, but I must admit it's becoming harder and harder to remain cheery and positive and let everything run off my back especially given I just picked my coach up from one of the largest Allison dealers on the entire East Coast.

My wipers are reeeeaaal slow on the slowest of speeds as well...

Good luck to you and yours!!

Sorry for the rant and hijacking your thread.

You can hijack our thread anytime! We've hijacked yours enough.

Also, this is our first time at a Newmar rally. The Monaco rallies were awesome. I would imagine a person could stop in to visit the vendors if it is the same as Monaco.

Well we made it to Essex Junction. The coach generally ran well except it overheated in the hills of Vermont. Check engine light came on again. Pulled into rest area. There is coolant in it. Looks like the leak is solved. New fan belt and clutch assembly appear to be intact. But going up hills (70 degrees ambient) the temp goes up to 215-220. Going down hills drops to 175 or so.

Nice trucker said turn on the fan switch in the cab - said all trucks have them. I said this one doesn't. Newmar confirmed no manual way to engage fan.

Spartan is going to look at it during rally.

Oh and the new replacement solenoid for the gen set slide and jacks didn't work. Had to hit it.

At least we're here.

Gary,
We are on the first row of the West Infield, 2nd coach over from the road into the expo grounds. It is #13, but since there are no markings, the site number is not helpful. We are diagonal to the horse barn. It is pretty muddy around here, evidenced by our filthy tires and bottom of the coach, the hazards of having arrived on Friday.

Catch up with you later!
