Jerky slide! Whats going on

Had a strange thing happen today.

I usually stand outside and watch the slides as my wife brings them in so if there is an issue I can see it and stop her before any damage is done. Minding the gap so to speak.

Today the passenger side living room/kitchen slide would start to come in 1st from the back end then from the front of the slide and stop. DW would then hold the switch again and again from the back and then from the front move about 3" and stop. We had to repeat this multiple times until the slide was all the way in. The front and back of the slide seems totally out of sync, and yes we were level. Any idea what could be going on with this, or has anyone experienced this themselves?

I called Newmar and they documented it but had no explanation as to what was causing this. We could bring it in and they would look at it in January.

Figured I might get better info here on the forum.

Thanks

I had a very similar problem on my 2019 New Aire. Mine turned out to be a pin out of the bracket that holds the chain that pulls it in and out. Had to disassemble the facia and take out some of the slide wall to fix it after new parts were shipped from Newmar. Not an easy job, took the tech most of a day to take it apart, put in new parts and put everything back together.

Just wrote up a new slide info thread covers all slides and types in this link.
Its possible you have some shoulder bolts in need of adjustment because they are loose and guide the pans under slide to stay true to its slide opening.
Or you may have a duel motor control that needs its soft limits readjusted.
Which ever its all there in new thread.
ALWAYS move slides with a good 12v for motors and hydraulic pump if it apply's.

Thanks for the caution. I extended the slide with the generator running and it was smooth going out. Tested the in motion and that too worked much better than the other day when I was not running the generator. Even with the batteries at full charge I am going to start the genny to move the slides.

Thanks again
