Just finished first Oasis service
Just finished the first annual service for the Oasis .....Called Oasis (ITR) and had them ship the service kit (about $102.00)......Got it in 2 days......
Service was straightforward and very easy with the use of the video mentioned a few times elsewhere on this forum.....(youtube).....Anyone with minimal mech skills can save some money and do this......Everything on the unit accessible and east to access......Took well under an hour.....
One minor issue--kit did not include an air filter as I thought it should and I had an extra part.....Called ITR and they explained the air filter has been changed to a very small "stone filter" that takes the place of the paper filter that originally came with the unit......That was my extra part.....
ITR answered the phone every time and very happy to answer any questions....I have gotten spoiled between Newmar, FL and now ITR.....

We got to meet a couple of the guys from the Oasis Division of ITR in September. They actually spent 2 days at the Hoots Roost, they had a presentation, answered questions and helped people over the 2 days with service related issues. They are a great bunch!

I bought the service kit several months ago and stored it onboard as I do with extra fuel filters (it comes with the large fuel filter located at the front of the coach). I thought the kit was a little pricey, but wanted to have it in case of a breakdown. I'll order another when I do the service.
The service looked pretty simple, glad it was!.

Hope you never have to replace the little 12v DC compressor - around $500 as I recall. Fortunately easy to install. I agree, the maintenance kits are a bit pricy. Mine had both the paper filter and the little stone filter.

You will never have to, because the Oasis does not use one. The oasis is a low pressure system as opposed to the HydroHot which uses an expensive compressor. The other Oasis advantage is that there is no diesel smell in the basement.

I had to replace the one on my Oasis last year (2011 Ventana). Like I said, not hard to do, but pricey. I also think the $500 replacement appeared to be of lower quality.

The Oasis guys at our rally were great - they actually insisted I watch as they did the service on my unit! This was the "yearly" service with new igniter and filters along with checking the burn chamber for excessive build up. But, what is a year? To full timers it is 12 months use. But to a guy like me, using the coach for 4-5 months of year, I figure it is at least two years of coach use. I'll just carry an extra igniter and feel I'm in the right zone.
