Key ignition switch to push button
Has anyone converted the main key ignition switch to a push button? I've asked my Oasis shop and they cannot do it. When reaching destinations, my dogs (2 huskies) get so excited they bump the key and turn off the engine. Not good, I know. However, it has happened more than once now.

Would a push button help ? Seems they could activate the shut down with it too.
I don't know where your switch is ; dash or steering column ; but would a cover be more functional .
If I had similar issues , I'd move my dash mounted ignition switch from right hand access to left hand side of the steering column.

I'm not trying to be a smart alek, but it seems some dog training would be cheaper and result in a better overall experience for both you and your dogs.
I speak from experience.

In short, yes, I keyless ignition system can be added. You may not like the cost, though.
There ARE some workarounds like in the old days. One, the ignition switch may be able to be configured to remove the key in the ON position. Two, the ignition switch could be bypassed with a hidden switch. Both, of course, come with distinct disadvantages/risk.
I just had my entire keyless system replaced; the old system was causing problems with random door locking and opening...also NOT good!
The new system ONLY provides start and ignition lockout with the fob.
This is an example for you:

I would be more concerned about the canines pushing the parking brake button.

This may sound a little silly, but I found the aluminum key shank that Newmar was using was excessively long and would actually twist when I turned to start. I'm a big guy and I would sometimes strike my knee on the key.
I had a new key made, out of a steel shank, and shortened it as much as I could. No more more hitting it or twisting the key shank when starting.

I agree, but I sort of encourage RV travel excitement. It's somewhat difficult to have effective training on two 65 lb dogs while driving. Not much room for them in the isle, so they tend to sit up front.

I was told by shop that I could "not" relocate ignition from right to left. Seems odd as it's just wires. The key sticks out quite a ways. Another issue I had today was the dash went black and total loss of power steering, but when placed in Neutral the rpms were still running about 1000. So the bumped key didn't actually turn off engine this time. Still an undesired/unsafe impact.

Haha, yes that would be a bad scenario. But, they'd have to pull the air brakes to cause an issue. I'd be impressed if they managed to do that.

Could be something behind the dash panel would be in the way of the relocate , one would have to be under the dash to be sure ; maybe the shop person had a look , maybe they just didn't want to get involved with a modification.

Problem there is they shut off the key while I'm driving. Maybe a zip tie around the dogs might work though!

How about cutting off most of the black key head and see if that helps get it out of the way.
