Ok, that was the good part! I spent the weekend in the keys with the family and had a great time. The KOA in sugar loaf key is outstanding! Unfortunately, with the good comes the bad.
The bad, I am new to this whole camping thing and learn through mistakes, mine usually cost alot of money. The first night we had a huge thunderstorm and the snapped in the middle of the night. I guess I didnt have it slanted enough and it held a tremendous amount of water. The center boom that rolls up just totally cracked and collapsed. My insurance should cover it according to the policy, I rigged it and started my trip home.
Around Miami I started to feel the coach hickuping and loosing power. I pulled into a gas station and spun on another fuel filter hoping that was it. I drove another 25 miles to my house and was just getting off the highway when that gremlin came back. She started hickuping again and throttling down, by the time I stopped at the light she just stalled. I started her up but when I let her go below 1.5 rpms she stalls. All fluid were good, I bled the filter again, but nothing. I had her towed 1/2 mile to my storage lot and their she sits.
I'm waiting for a mechanic to call me back this morning.
She is a 04 dutchstar 40' with a C-7 caterpillar on a freightliner. I'm hoping it's just a fuel pump issue or a censor. This did happen to me last month in Kentucky but the problem went away, just not far enough! All suggestions are happily embraced.. Josh
