As an owner of a 43 Mountainaire, year 05 I am considering an 08 King Aire. Given the escapades of some of Newmar's really high end product performance, and the purported discontinuance of the London Aire, I'm wonder ing if the King Aire is viable at this point. I don't think I've seen anything on the KA on this site. Does anyone have any input or information on the KA product line's future and it's relability?

We haven't heard much of anything form KADB owners, as there probably isn't too many out there.
IMHO, the KADB will be around for a while as it's the top model now that the LADB is discontinued.
Perhaps we will learn something at the Newmar rally at the Tampa show.
The Newmar brass will be there.

Given the state of the RV market, I would be surprised if the supposed 2010 reemergence of the LADB actually comes to pass, which would make the King Aire truly the King at Newmar.
Having seen the condition of Matt Miller's KADB when he got to Stone Mountain, it was comforting to see that even the owner of the Company had issues with their coaches... The techs working on his coach after his arrival looked like bees on a hive...
Seems if I were him I'd have brought the "old" LADB on that trip and not used a maiden voyage of such distance for the inaugural shakedown...
I'm sure the KADB will do just fine, as it's paired in the market against the Travel Supreme Select Limited and is Newmar's only K3 chassis offering at this time. The King Aire was in fact introduced to compete against the Select Limited, as TS was in the K3/600HP without a competitor from Newmar.
I don't see the King Aire going anywhere....

I agree with Bob. The King Aire should be around for a good number of years. I fits well with the direction Newmar has mentioned they are moving in.

Thanks for the quick and informative replies. Based on my limited knowledge of TS, the Supreme Limited is less $ and has more to offer than the KADB..just an observation. I'm interested in hearing from a current owner who has "experience" with this model. When we were at the factory in August, we were told they were selling as fast as they could make them!
Are there units in the field available? If so, what kind of pricing should we expect?
Thanks again

Why not look at buying a 1 or 2 year old Newell instead of a KA?
Personally, I wish Newmar would focus on their core diesel pushers and stop trying to compete at the highest levels. I love my Newmar product..just concerned that they may be trying to compete at too many levels which may cause them to lose thier focus.

Hi! We are also looking into a King Aire. There is supposed to be 2 or 3 at the Tampa Show. North Trail has quite a few on order. Every time we tried to get a test drive they sold the unit they had. You get it on a K3 Chassis, where the Essex, and Mountain Aire are on a K2. That allows you more HP and a little higher basement area. It also gives you a 200 Gal. fuel tank, and larger water and holding tanks. The body caps and side look pretty much like the Essex. The interior floor plans (other then the front kitchen) are the same as Essex and Mountain Aire. Example: the rear bath (4561) is the same as ours (4528). Of course the cabinets and all interior appointments are much more upscale. Some people do not like the more modern interiors. Especially the high gloss cabinets. One of my favorites. The dash board comes with dual screens, so you can watch Nav and cameras. Lots of cameras come with it. All in All it is a great coach with lots of Goodies. We are very interested in purchasing one, but I still say it is an Essex on Steroids. If you don't want the bigger chassis or all the extra toys look at the Essex. Paul

We saw two at Coach Light in October. The one that's still pictured on their site was supposedly sold and inside in prep. We did go through it and were very impressed. Not sure what they still have. Wife hates the ceiling of the Essex but I've been told you can modify the black color which gives the ceiling a more subdued contrast. I'm with Jetsmania on the K3 chassis. Thanks again for the replies. I know I can always count on the key participants of IRV2 to offer unbiased and informative input.

There is a market for the KA...look at the number of C.C Affinitys' and Magnas' that are sold each year. The KA is less $ than either of those coaches and a better coach IMHO.
